Web Home Page: Gouna lies slightly to the west of Diepwale State Forest and its forests are similar in structure. The Outeniqua Trail passes through a portion of Lilyvlei reserve which encloses the only remnant of unworked natural forest in the southern Cape. Due to its relative inaccessibility, this 100 ha section of forest escaped the axe during the last century. Location: South-eat of the province; north of Knysna. Access: From Knysna drive 2 km westward on the N2, then turn right on to the road to Gouna. Accommodation: None. Rondebossie hut is available only to hikers on the Outeniqua Trail. Other facilities: Terblans Nature Trail; picnic site; natural swimming holes. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: 06h00 to 18h00.
